Default Green fade on new pads!

I just recently installed a set of project mu pads on the front brakes on my Civic... I broke them in for 700 miles or so, driving gently... Figuring I'd be OK to jump on them now... they're fading really bad! I'm almost certain it's green fade--this phenomenon is disconcerting... The stock Honda pads and rotors could handle canyon runs (I was hanging with a Yamaha R6! ), and with all else being equal, the new rotors (PowerStop slotted) and project mu pads couldn't!
What can I do to fix the problem? Will it go away?

What is the break-in procedure for them? All pads need to outgas when they're new. Hawk and Porterfield's break-in procedures make the pads stink like heck and the car has nearly no brakes by the end of them. The brakes often end up smoking, and in the case of Hawk Blues, you can see them shoot sparks. Once they cool down though, it's usually never a problem again. They do need to be heated up a good bit to intially blow the gasses out of them.

I was just assuming a somewhat boring old break-in procedure... about a dozen moderate stops from 40mph, drive easy for 400-500miles (I went "the extra mile", pardon the pun and didn't do any hard braking for 700 miles or so). I've gotten these pads to fade to the point where it seems like I don't even HAVE brakes (kinda like barely pulling up on the e-brake on the highway).... twice! Are the pads totally screwed???

nope, they are just bedding in. REPEAT!
Some pads need ABUSE to get bedded in.

I sure hope you're right... I'll do a couple more hard run sessions and we'll see if they get any better. Thanks again.
