Living in Hawaii isn't always great. The petroleum companies say they have to charge so much due to shipping. B.S. Someone is making a killing. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emthdown.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emthdown.gif

i pay $1.19 for 66 brand 87, i dont have forced induction, nitrous or high compression so the higher octane fuel wont add any power, and would be a waste

Yes and no, off course it will suck for you, but the US will start using their reserves or they will get oil from another country, and yes, the prices will go up, but come on!!, i have to be in my house all day, doing nothing, playing pc, watching TV, i haven't had a soda in a month! i do have a tank of gas in my dad's car, but i don't want to use it in case of a emergency or some major party.
it has been this way for a month now!

It is VERY difficult to say when we will run out of pertoleum. I remember back in the 1970's, they were saying that we would run out in about 25-30 years. But it is now 25-30 years later and there is still oil out there. So who knows for sure. The only sure thing is that the end WILL come. After all, petroleum supplies are NOT infinite.

But even if this does happen, it would not necessarily be the end of the world. One intersting possibility that is being explored is the use of alcohol. This actually has several advantages over gasoline: renewability, cleanliness, superior octane rating, and superior power output. The disadvantages are shorter range (not a really big problem), higher cost (at least for now), and corrosiveness.
