Fully built motor running rich on startup... help
hey guys i just got my low compression lsvtec motor back and put it in... im running stock bseries injectors, walbro 255hp fuel pump and stock sohc ecu because i wanted it to run leaner.... when i started the car my wideband read 14.7 then after 5 seconds of running it worked its way down to 10.0 i imediatly shut the car off because its a brand new motor and i didnt want to wash out the rings. there is a aem fuel pressure regulator on the car set to 40psi. i dont think that would cause the car to run so rich. any ideas on what i can do to make it run leaner because i want the rings to seat properly.
edit: ecu is a p06 and i am getting no engine codes. |

robo, the engine is going to run rich till its warmed up, its in cold start enrichment...unless you jump out the IAT and ECT sensors your going to run rich for a little

Yeah but isnt 10:1 a/f way to rich? |

My oem FPR was fubar and the car was mad rich on startup (and at all times for that sake). I doubt the oem FPR can deliver 40psi even with no internal contents so get that FPR checked https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif

Re: (Wafler)
i put a stock pump in, changed the regulator even put the fuel pressure down to like 15 psi and it still runs at constant 10.0. i pulled the plugs and they were dripping in fuel so i know its not a bad wideband.
When i put the stock injectors in the car i un installed my resistor box and put all of the 8 wires that go to the dead clip and soldered them together. i dont know if this is the correct way to take out the resistor box but i think the injectors have to be constantly dumping fuel. |
