Default Best Bang for Buck

One word: JACKSON, reason: throw it in and forget about it
Sick power, linear set up= so reliable, and at least 1 sec of 1/4 mile time.
Dont get me wrong i was gonna do turbo but the pros just out weight the cons with the JACKSON

Nah, for nearly the same price you can get a lot more hp/tq out of a turbo. And if you have half a head on you and keep the maintenance up the turbo will be a lot more satisfying, unless of course you just want a little more boost for daily driving (SC)

do u forget all the money turbo drains...u going to need more than just a kit, boost controller, new injectors, standalone, 3inch exhaust ect...

but u got what 40 hp from the SC, and with a turbo, i,ve seen people pull 200whp on an LS wiht stock internals which is about double the whp of the car

so turbo is a better investment easily

i agree.. but then again, if you love to squeeze, you'll be paying for refills

i think it depends on what he's shooting for. if he's not wanting a drag racing monster, the SC is a nice package.. but if you want to up the boost that's a different story.

how much boost are you running?

I agree but w/ the jackson you just throw it in and forget, as far as daily driving it is much better then turbo. Turbo without time and management is nothing but time and headaches. People always say 40hp, that is such bs its not even funny, the gs-r puts lets say 150 to the wheels on a good day stock, on a bone stock gs-r with 6 psi jackson it puts over 210 out, with much more low end that hondas lack. Mine with 8 psi and a little other work puts over 240 out and have had no problems.

Toss it in and forget about it huh? Your car is under constant boost, even at idle, Superchargers are not the end all to adding power without having to tweak and tune occasionally.

you dont need the water cooler with proper ignition timing, the water cooler is just like a fail safe, a waste of $$ if you ask me

that is true, but they have tuned them so they run next to no boost, less then 1% now, like its in vacuum but as soon as you womp it the boost is right there...no hesistation due to the linear design

That is the key. Lower upfront cost for same/better performance. I have about $1000 so far in my ZEX NOS setup counting 20-25 fills. I could sell my ZEX kit tomorrow for $300 used. I bought it for $350 used.

Now if I was building a longterm motor, then I would go turbo.

D16Z6 + 85 shot = not long term!

I thought the same about the water injection... Until I did some checking up. You can expect anywhere from 30-50 hp gain, just by cooling the intake charge... That may be a little high, the way some companys make numbers up... But still, any kind of gain like that, would be a nice bang for the buck. I will be finding out for myself, when the built motor gets built, I am having built....

well, i have the 6BTM MSD Igntion and the timing is retarded some, do you think the liquid injection would still be benificial, and where did you see the drastic hp increase numbers. I have heard nothing of the sort

I had mine on for two years, problem free. Other than the normal maintenance, I didn't have to do anything else. True, it's not the end all but, if you want a quick car capable of keeping up with mustangs and camaro's and the like, and don't want the added maintenance issues, then the SC is a good deal. The only maintenance I had to do was check the belt tension once in a while. It all depends on what you want out of the car I guess. Just my $0.02

BTW, the jackson unit has a bypass valve, you are not always under boost.

It's on their web site... It's an AquaMist pump, that JR slapps their name on.... hehehehe

http://www.aquamist.co.uk/

I am trying to do everything possiable to reduce the intake temp. Also, like mentioned above, you would be able to advance your timming some, sooo even more low end torque would be there.
