first start on fresh rebuilt engine

Alright first off I'm going to assume that the first start is always the most difficult start of a fresh rebuilt motor.
Anyways my lsvtec is complete other than the first start. It is boosted and has 440 injectors so on my hondata I went with the closest set up for a base map. Just put brand new plugs in it. It is getting spark and fuel.....its so damn close to starting. Its trying to run, but just won't start. It keeps on hitting and is so damn close.
also there are 2 trouble codes water temp and electrical load detected, I don't think they would be giving me any hassle.
Is there a trick on the first start? Sure hope so. lol. or any thing I should look at? any help or input to get my baby running would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Check your fluids and grounds. Did you happen to flood it also?

Re: first start on fresh rebuilt engine

fluids should be good......I will double check grounds and don't think it should be flooded.

Double check your timing on the belt.

Re: first start on fresh rebuilt engine

firing order is right. I forgot about double checking the belt.
I think the dtc 6 coolant temperature sensor is messing it up.

Re: first start on fresh rebuilt engine

On a stock ecu, whenever a fault code is thrown for a sensor, the ecu will substitute default values so the car should be able to run still. Usually these default values are very "safe" (rich)...Im not sure how this logic works with aftermarket tuning systems...
Id look at that coolant temp sensor fault first...
Compression numbers OK?

yea they are good.

as for the cts. I ran wires to the temps sensor and to d13 and d22 and same thing. I then swapped it out for another used cts and the same.
I have the air fuel mix gage and it shows very rich as I'm cranking.....so idk.

did the car run before?

Re: first start on fresh rebuilt engine

back when it had a different block. The head on up ran before. I got the block and fully rebuilt it. The old block had cracked sleeves.
