what does this meter tell you? what is the benifit of knowing your exhaust temp? thnks.

You can use it to tell if your running lean or not. If your running leaner... your exhaust temps rise.

Mainly the pirommeter is used in turbo cars it tells you what your exahaust temperature is either before the turbo or after. Because the cooler and more dense the air the more power you will get.
