engine miss??
ok heres the rundown i just put a turbo kit on my stock gsr along with evo 560cc injectors and resistor box also had my ecu chipped for the setup.
issue: i fired the car up idled smooth for about 5 sec then all the sudden it starts idling like a subaru so i checked spark and it is getting spark but when i pulled wires 1 and 4 they were the dead cylinders. so i figured maybe the injectors were bad so i switched only cylinder 1 and 2 injectors.......fired it up and now 1 and 4 are firing and 2 and 3 are not! wtf am i missing here. i never switched 4 but now its firing since i switched 1 and 2 and 3 was firing before the switch and now its not. i checked voltage to all the injectors from the resistor box, and from the injectors to the ecu had 12v everywhere( at the resistor box, ecu and injectors. |
Re: engine miss??
If you switch injectors from a "dead" cylinder with one from a working cylinder and the "dead' cylinder starts working and the working cylinder is now not working, it can only be the injector. 94

Re: engine miss??
yea to a point, but i didnt switch injectors with the one cylinder(4) and it just started working for no reason when i switched 1 and 2. either way fired car up this morning and 1 and 4 where not firing again but 2 and 3 were

Re: engine miss??
Well then, it has to be either power, [12V+] for the injectors from the PGM-FI Main Relay, [through resistor pack], I would check resistor pack, as it is only two cylinders not working.
Question, is there power at the "dead" cylinder injectors, when engine is running? Or there is a problem with the ground pulse from the ECU/ECM, have you checked to see if there is a pulse, [ground] on the injectors of the "dead" cylinders, with the engine running?94 |
Re: engine miss??
well thats where i think the problem is i dont think the the ecu is grounding the circuit like it should be cause i have 12v going to all the injectors. when the car is running i have 12v on both wires going to the injector. i am having the ecu checked this tuesday cause thats the only other thing i can think of, i mean i have checked all the things i thought it could be i.e grounds, power before resistor box, and after, power at injs. and ecu.

Re: engine miss??
It is either the ECU/ECM or the wiring between the ECU/ECM and the injectors, have you done a continuity check on the leads to the injectors? 94

Re: engine miss??
no just checked power at ecu from each injector
