Endyn ???????????
I am going to start building up an allmotor B18C1 soon .
I would like to know if Endyn Rollerwave pistons are any good ? Once an order is placed does he ship out pistons immediately ? Is endyn reliable ? the B18C1 will go into a EG4 Civic Hatch ( = you guys Si hatch ) the interior is fully gutted , Flex-a-lite rear hatch and rear side windows , CF hood , urethane front bumper , fiberglass rear hatch . here is what spec i plan on builing the motor with :- *B18C1 portflow full race head golden eagle 84.5/85mm sleeved block *Jun 3 cams *Toda Cam gears Endyn Rollerwave ( 12.0 pistons ) *hopefully* crower rods *440 cc injectors *Hondata stage 4 TWM throttle bodies *hopefully* SMS/hytech header *HKS hiper exhaust ( without cat ) *underdrive pulleys *MSD ignition 6AL and coil *platimum plugs *Accel plug wired with this setup what time you guy think i'll run ? |
Re: Endyn ??????????? (eg6madness)
are they any good, i don't know, but he was very helpful, answered any questions i had, and shipped the pistons same-day.
here's what he told me when i asked about avaolability : We have all the pistons listed on our web site in-stock and available for finishing and shipment in business day. If you order today, they will ship tomorrow, or if you order in the AM, they can usually ship that afternoon, assuming we don't exceed the limits of the machine shop.... |
Re: Endyn ??????????? (eg6madness)
Endyn is reliable. Larry will not take your money and run. If he has what you want, he'll ship it in a timely mannor. For best results, call them. Email is definately not the best way to do business with them.

Re: Endyn ??????????? (eg6madness)
If you're not going forced induction, there's not much need for injectors that size. I'd save my money for a limited slip . . . . .
What crower rods were you thinking of? For a n/a application, I'd look into some lightweight ones, like Eagle offers. Also, you didn't mention it, but you'll need some valvetrain upgrades for cams that aggressive. As far as Endyn goes, do a LOT of searches on the topic before you make a decision. You're going to hear opinions of him from one extreme to another. Read up on it, and decide for yourself. |

Re: Endyn ??????????? (eg6madness)
I'm sure everyone knows this, but Endyn pistons are made by Wiesco, and the rods are made by eagle, and yes they are lightweight, and strong. And as far as head work goes, Endyn all the way.

Re: Endyn ??????????? (riceboy)
yes... but aren't they made to endyn's specs? (and then polished...) ??

Re: Endyn ??????????? (non-VTEC)
but theyre inexpensive, that is always a plus

Re: Endyn ??????????? (riceboy)
what is the address for endyn's site?

Re: Endyn ??????????? (schwett)
Anyone know the ending to the story of the guys that allegedly took it up the poop-shoot from Endyn? I think it was the guys from Atomic or something like that. Man, what a soap-opera that was.

Re: Endyn ??????????? (MaddMatt)
i gotta buddy who runs eagles in an all motor car and the rod bolts on the eagles let loose, threw 3 rods and completely wiped out his whole motor. The only thing salvaged was the intake manifold. you get what you pay for. I've got a similar set up but I'm using b20 block(couldn't afford gsr and sleeves) with endyne 84.5 12.5 to 1 comp. , crower rods, jun 3 head package, 310 injectors, and other various bolt on parts and chipped p28 ecu. And I made 220@ the wheels ran 12.2 all motor with ac and interior less the backseat.

I don't know what's true and what's not, but here's a link: http://www.importreview.com/bb/Forum1/HTML/000587.html

Re: Endyn ??????????? (schwett)
Larry "says" he x-rays the eagle rods he buys to look for fatigue and throws away the bad ones and graciously gives us the best ones... this is what makes for the price difference when you purchase from him ... bah http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emhammer.gif
-- he also sprinkles his magic fairy dust and blesses them before shipping them out... http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emwink.gif Pistons are good, rods are good .... but wiseco and eagle are what made them good, not Larry .... |
Re: Endyn ??????????? (dasher)
I think it states in the manufacturer fine print that they do the x-raying.

Re: Endyn ??????????? (badCRX)
I recall someone having trouble with Endyne pistons giving them higher compression than advertised. I've had no dealings with them personally, I'd just be careful.

Re: Endyn ??????????? (eg6madness)
What size (injectors) do you recommend? Does eagle have a web site? where can they be ordered from? jisatsu - What rod bolts was your friend using? One can hardly blame the rods in that case - it seems pretty obvious the bolts he was using were the weak link there. Or possibly poor installation, oil deprivation, any number of things. The Portflow head contains the full upgraded valvetrain And it's mostly pointless to try & predict results, but a pretty conservative estimate would be 200-210 whp with that kind of work. Assuming a curb weight of around 2,000 lbs. & adequate traction, you could find yourself fairly deep into the 13's. But even the best battle plan only lasts until the first shot is fired . . . .
