Driveshaft's reducing performance?

Hey guys I've got a 96 EK with an H22, bought the car with the swap, it has 2 differnet sets of shafts. The driver side is an enjo stage 2 and the passanger side is unknown with a broken cv boot. Now I know I have to replace the boot and more likely the shaft itself, but could a bad drivershaft drastically effect acceleration. From a launch or first gear roll. My first gear is extremly slow, car doesn't pull like it should in first and second gear is hard to spin. It's like the power isn't getting to the wheels and the driveshaft(s) aren't putting the torque to the wheels. Does this make sense? Daily driving is fine, you hear the occasionally shaft click when turning but other than that it's fine.

Nope, not the shaft causing your problem. They will click for awhile usually before going totally out but don't hurt performance until they break!

Re: Driveshaft's reducing performance?

1. Most likely, it's not an axle issue, but if clearances on the bearings in them are tight, it will create extra friction. This also means heat, and if this were the case, they would have probably exhausted themselves already.

2. How heavy is your wheel/tire combo? And what tire?

3. What exhaust/header setup do you have and are you running it properly tuned or just some random GSR basemap or something?

Re: Driveshaft's reducing performance?

I'm running 15" buddyclub P1's, with falken zeix 912's. I'm faily reasonable for wheel weight. I'm running dc 4-2-1 headers (pancake edition lol), 2.5" mandrel bend headers back, magnaflow hiflow and a spoon n1 exhaust, running a similiar setup basemap on a p06. Do you think the tune/exhaust has such a drastic effect on the performance I'm getting? I guess I should probably get it tuned, run a better header, and possibly punch my cat. Thanks, for the help guys. Any input is greatly appreciated.
