D16Z6 vtec activates but wont kick
Hi
My vtec won´t work. Im manually activating vtec solenoid at idle with 12v input, selenoid make click but my car does not lower the rpms, bogs or make any change as it is supposed to do when activating vtec at idle.
I just cleaned the selenoid but won´t work. Any other hint?

Insufficient oil flow/pressure... not enough volume to lock up VTEC. Maybe a "not so fresh" rebuild.

everybody has a different meaning of a rebuild....seems silly to dumb down the phrase to just (for example) a timing belt, water pump, tensioner, oil pan and valve cover gasket

"It's fully built, bro. I had the shop replace the water pump, thermostat, timing belt and valve cover gasket. They also adjusted the valves. That's like a $2000 rebuild, man..."

are you using a non-vtec block? if so, did you remove the oil restrictor from the top of the block?
are all the pins in the head still in the right places? if even one single pin is missing, vtec will not work at all. they fall out very easily.
as said above, what is your definition of "rebuilt"? if it was not built properly, you could easily have low oil pressure, too low for vtec to work
