Crank pully bolt

im worried about breaking mine off cause its being a bitch to break loose. it probably was never off before (just got JDM b16 Sir 2 swap) and i heard heating it can cause shit to go wrong and damage the bearings and warp the crank pully. is this true?

just put an allen wrench between the flywheel and block and get a long ass breaker bar and just have someone hold the motor while somebody else stands on the breaker bar. thats how i got mine loose.

If this has never been taken off before you won't get it off with an air hammer. You will need the tool specialy made for this job. It is a hex head that is hollow in the center with a long breaker bar attatched to it so you can get a socket on the bolt. Moroso and Snap on makes them. I'm sure other companies do as well but can't think of any right now.

i had to break down and buy the $200 impact wrench from sears to get mine off. The two parts that make me swear the most the carnk pulley bolt and the bitch pin in the shift linkage at the tranny..... https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emthdown.gif

I've never had a problem removing a crank pully bolt with and air gun.

you just have to make sure that you have enough PSI
