Default Gotta Problem (alternator related)

OK, I posted the other day thinkin my alternator was shot. So today I went to advance auto to have them check the alternator and it said that it was not gettting current to the alternator. The thing is I don't know where the wires from the alternator lead to and what to check for. I already made sure the ground was good and it was but what else could be the problem. PLEASE HELP
thanX in advance.

A Helms would help here.

And you'll need a multimeter in order to check your wiring for things such as opens/shorts/voltages - or lack of a voltage.

So other than visually checking for broken wires and perhaps blown fuses - what else can you do without the above tools?

Are you getting any codes? Did the charging lamp indicator ever come on?
