VTEC BOGS DOWN WHEN KICKS IN
I have a 91 civic hatchback si w/b16 swap.
Im not throwing any codes
My vtec bogs down when kicks in, loss of power. Doesnt kick me back with power boost. Also when I start it it idles at around 300rpm, then wants to die, but when its warm it idles fine at 750rpm..
Will probably change out fuel filter. Check timing, I already checked fuel injectors & fuel injector filters which where all clean.
I just put on a new cat converter..
Any help would be greatly appriciated..

okay so my first post failed for some reason. What is ur vtec engagement point at currently? Sounds like it is too low - chipped ecu? running obd0 or obd1? jumper or full conversion if obd1 - idle could be a number of things.

Re: (DTA-Zombie)
I fixed the idle problem.
Its a obdo engine and ecu. The vtec kicks in at 5200 rpm. How can I lower that, get a vtec controller.
I was looking at the map sensor, it had a tee on it and was sucking in air, I fixed that, vtec is a little more smooth still bogs a little, doesnt kick me back with power!! Car warms up fine with no problems.
Also I have non-vtec spark plug wires on the car, can that be it. I didnt put them on they where on it already on car. From a 93 acura integra ls non-vtec. Im going to put on magnecor comps. dohc vtec spark plug wires on it..
