car won't start!
Okay, I've done all the troubleshooting and i've come to the conclusion that its the starter. When I turn the ignition, all I get is a clicking noise coming from the ECU area. I tested the battery, its fine. Checked all fuses, Fine. Did the karate kid test (Daniel LaRusso's pushes the car untill his mom says pop it) and it started right up. I drove it about 10 miles today and everything else seems to be fine. I just wanted to ask you knowlegable people if this is indefinatly the starter. I've never heard of an honda ignition going bad and apparently, neither has any of the part stores, Pepboys and Autozone, which means they can't even order them yet. But I assume I can get a late model Delsol b16 or GSR starter easier.

I took my starter down to pepboys, and they tested it free...you should do the same http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emwink.gif
only takes 5 minutes to remove the starter....so why not. |

kewl, thanks! I'll try that.

Re: car won't start! (kilab16a)
okay, its not the starter! I'm really getting pissed at this car. My friend told me the only logical thing could be the alarm. I have a starter kill switch feature on my Viper 600. I'm going to take it to Circuit City, where I got it from and hope they can help me.

Re: car won't start! (kilab16a)
also...your battery might not have enough charge....I went through this exact same thing....I ended up bringing my battery to the store...they said it was real weak...so I had them charge it up...car started right up after that.

Re: car won't start! (DragII)
i've done that too. I took it to sears thinking I might get myself a nice Diehard, but they told me the battery was fine. I've checked all fuses, the starter. If its not the alarm, i don't know what it is.

Re: car won't start! (kilab16a)
could be a bad main relay. I had that problem. You can remove the main relay from under the dash and pop it open and resolder the cold solder joints or just buy a new relay for about $50 from the dealer.

Re: car won't start! (erniecars)
Main relay trouble wouldn't prevent the car from cranking. I suggest you do a thorough inspection of your battery cables (both ends) for continuity and tight clean connections. When you had your starter tested, did they just check the starter motor, or did it include the starter solenoid also?
Ruling all else out, I would begin checking the starter interrupt switch. In the console if it's an automatic, or above the clutch pedal if it's stick. The next logical thing to check would be the ignition switch itself. Good luck. |

also make sure your alternator, and ground wires are all in tact.

Re: car won't start! (DragII)
thanks guys, you all are the best. I just got done taking it to Circuit city and its not the alarm. They check the volt meter and some other stuff but still nothing. I don't know what else to check. I'll check the relays as you guys said, but it sounds too easy. And with me, nothings too easy.
