Cam Sensor?

Cam Sensor?
97 accord ex f22b1 w/ bolt ons. I just changed basically everything under the timing cover about 4k miles ago, CKP and TDC sensors included. Been running great, but now every once in a while, it will cut out under load and throw p1361 and/or p1362 code. As soon as I reset the code, it runs fine indefinitely, its only actually done it a few times. I followed the test procedure I found on another thread for the CKP/TDC sensor and ecu plug and everything tested ok. The reason I bring up cam sensor is because these are not the same codes I got when the old crank sensor was mangled by the broken timing belt. My scan tool says Camshaft Position Sensor and to my knowledge, I don't have one. I thought the distributor detected cam position for the ecu.

Re: Cam Sensor?
You could get another part from the junkyard but it would be best to buy a brand name distributor. Then, if anything would ever go bad with that one, you have spare parts in the other one.

Re: Cam Sensor?
I have a '99 Accord EX and 1400 mi ago had to replace the distributor. Now the 'cam positioning sensor' is the error code, or so the mechanic tells me. 285,000 mi. and never had to replace any engine parts until the distributor. So is my cam positioning sensor the distributor as well?.Or is it a separate sensor somewhere? And, how does one test that sensor to make sure it is functioning? Thanks!
