Cam gear timing question
 
Each time you adjust the cam gear, i heard that the "timing" needs to be adjusted. Can someone expalin this in detail?

get a timing gun (dont remember the real name), and hook it up and put it to your timing belt, and chekc your timing. pretty sure thats what you are talking about

yeah that is correct. the cam. intake cam is connected to the distributor. moving the cam sprockets on the exhaust side wont change ignition timing. adjusting the intake cam will effect ignition timing. mechanical timing is still lined up at the timing cover side so basically you are turning the distributor rotor as you adjust the inner section of the cam sprocket

so i need to readjust ignition timing every time i adjust my intake cam gear? Thanks for the responses

yes anytime you adjust the cam timing on the intake side, you need to re set ignition timing
