block guards

after spending a while in the fi forum ive heard alot about the cooling concerns with a block guard. i have the chance to buy a fully built block with a new formz block guard. should i even bother, i read that posting is better. TIA any info on this will help my decision greatly, thanks

no one said posting is better, its simply a cheap alternative to resleving the block, something not all of us can afford to do. Check out Sonnys post(s) for more info on posting

I would rather have a block gaurd than posts. I have only heard of cooling problems fromblock gaurds but have never seen then first hand. I do know that a lot of people have ghetto installs on everything you can think of, so who knows what someone elses cooling problem is. Until I see it first hand its only hearsay IMO.

I was using a block guard on my ls/vtech and did not have any problems with heating and I ran it very hard 9400rpm.
