Re: Bense's B-series transmission write-up page (Voyage34)
I have the ys1 tranny. So would my car go faser on the 1/4 mile if I replaced the final drive ? If that's possible, would the car rev really high in fifth gear.

I wanted to chime in and tell you how much this is appreciated by the H-T community. It must of taken an unbelievable amount of time and research to get that all together.
BTW: A tranny forum would be awesome.

Re: (Bense)
Great article, you sound like you know what you're talking about. I came up with a couple quick questions. First, can you explain more about why FD affects road speed, not rpm drop between gears. Also, for the formula for MPH, where did the 336 come from? Is it just a constant? Thanks again, keep the technical info coming!

I don't know where the 336 came from. It bugs me that I don't know. the final drive is just like the axle ratio on RWD. All it controls is the output from the transmission to the wheels.

Re: Bense's B-series transmission write-up page (Black R)
I'll get back to you with the math for the ATS ratios.
So I don't have to go to the page later
1st = 3.077
2nd = 2.105
3rd = 1.652
4th = 1.308
5th = 1.033
I wish I could get a taller 1st gear ratio
