b16a problems
 

Set Up: b16a swapped into a 93 del sol Si. **STOCK**

So I bought the car swapped, it was running a usdm obd1 p28. With the p28 the car runs fine, until I get into vtec. During vtec it will sort of cut out... like sounds like really fast misfires.. only in 3rd gear and up. First and second gear pulls hard. But sometimes say in 4th gear I go into vtec at WOT it wont sputter...

So I put in a usdm obd1 p30 ecu. Runs grand in vtec, no more cut out and pulls strong. BUT... Kinda feels like fuel cut out when NOT IN VTEC. off and on. for some stupid reason.

I just replaced the spark plugs, wires, and fuel filter tonight. We'll see how it runs on the way to work with the p30.

Things I have done:
-Had similar symptoms in my lsv setup. Had a spun rod bearing and there was blockage on vtec selonoid screen. SO I freaked out and ripped that off, as well as looked in the head for any metal flakes, pieces or anything abnormal. Also dropped the oil pan. Everything checks out OK..

-Have checked timing, but will check again tomorrow as well.

What does HT think??? Is it just the simple fact that I NEED a JDM p30 ecu obd1? That is what I have been told...
