b16 turbo or b20/vtec
Ok, I have a 96 GSR OBD1 with a JDM B16a swap.(don't flame me, I didn't do the swap and the price wasn't bad) I/H/E/C/Wires/Springs and Struts/Decent Tires
I'm trying to decide what to do with it. I draged last year and I was consistenly running 15.7-15.8s with 2.4-2.5 60 ft times and I don't want to run the same thing this year. (And yes I know that more practice would get better times but I want more power) I'm not sure what to do? 1.Should I just keep the motor and piece together a turbo kit and be happy with it? 2. Invest in doing a b20/vtec swap with the possibility or turbo on the b20? Obviously I already have to head and ecu, and from searching on ebay jdm b20s are going for $600 to $800 shipped. I know I need the b20 conversion kit, and that is like $300, from some company that isn't coming to mind right now, and whatever else I need to do it. (Yes I know I need to do some research on what I need but I'm just trying to get an idea of what to look for) Where a turbo, piece together a kit for $1500-$2000 for a decent manifold and a vfac hack(I would prefer to run hondata but money is the obvious issue) with the stock internals and have 250-300 hp with the proper tune. I have no lsd so traction is always an issue as well. Thanks for any help you can provide. I'm sick of being in the I/E/H SLOW CLUB!!! |
