b16 question
I am lackin a lot of low end power which is very common in the b-series motor, well the races I participate in are from launch, I can do very well from a rolling start. Here is the question, my budget is low I need an inexpensive upgrade to help with this. I figure I chipped ecu would be best, its a 2000 civic si so the harness is obd2b so I need a harness adapter and after that and a chipped ecu I am looking around $250. I am also looking into a test pipe, but the cat is going to actually help low end power by adding pressure is that correct. So 2 questions chipped ecu good or ba(skunk vtech kicks in at 4200) and a test pipe going to give me any low end power or will it hurt me more than help.

Re: b16 question (JolleyRanchaMan)
Get some bad ass tires, an upgraded clutch, and just a chip for your stock ecu. Then go launch at at least 3,500 rpm. Dont even let the low end get used. And even though there might be a little drop without a cat the gains you will get will very much overcome what little is lost.

Re: b16 question (allnaturalb16)
pleae keep your cat it will only gain you like 1-2 hp, man does anybody care about the enviorment these days?? slap on some sticky tires get a good i/h/e if you dont already have it and call it a day!! or just get N20 agreed with above though dont worry about low end launch high!! KEEP THE CAT!!
