Assistance requested: D15B7 distributor oil leak
Hi everyone, I need some aid.
I got a D15B2 with a DPFI, and my distributor, started to leak oil, so I got 1 out of ebay (new)
The connectors match, 5 cables on the shaped one, and 2 cables on the circular. It fitted great, bolted it in, and here comes the issues.
Hard time to start, when it did, it was idling normally, however, when I tried to rev it up it just died, wondering if the one that I got is either a lemon, or a MPFI one.
I put the old one back on, and it works great, other than the annoying oil drop.
Any ideas, do I need to return this one, is there a way around it that I can still use it, maybe swapping the carcass of the new one with the guts of the old one?
Thanks in advance.

too much unknown with the ebay distributor. why not just order some replacement seals for the distributor you have? the o-ring is most likely to leak and easiest to replace (seals distributor to cylinder head). the shaft seal can leak especially on older vehicles like yours. it's more involved to replace, and can be more difficult to find for sale but should still only take an hour or two for someone with minimal experience (oil leaks inside of distributor housing and should be checked by removing the cap to check for wet oil inside.)
something like this should do.
