aem cai
i was wondering if there will be any problem using a used cai. my friend just bought a car for his gf and he wants to remove the exhaust, aem cai, and other parts cause she wants it stock. his car is a 97 civic ex sedan and i have a 97 civic ex coupe. i know the civic ex uses a different intake than the other trims. i know the previous owner cause that guy is my friend. he'll prolly give it to me free or a really low price since he doesn't need it.
1. will there be any problem cause his is a sedan and mine is a coupe? 2. will there be any problem since it's a used one? |
Re: aem cai (civic-cpe)
Intake, no problem.
Exhaust, unsure. |
Re: aem cai (Spade)
i already have an exhaust on my car, so i don't need his exhaust.
does the sedan and coupe use the same intake if they're both ex? i know different trims uses a different one than from the ex. is there anything i should do with the intake before installing it? replacing the filter, etc? |
Re: aem cai (civic-cpe)
THe whole thing about the intakes is that on the D16Y7 (non vtec) the trottle body faces up.
On the D16Y8 (EX) and the D16Y5 (HX) the trottle body faces to the side. NEVER replace the filter, get the K&N filter cleaner and clean the filter following the instructions. K&N's have a 1,000,000 mile warranty as long as you clean them every 50,000 miles. |
