No Oil in filter at oil change ?
So here is the deal. Gota z6 in my hatch and i just rebuilt the motor about 30k ago. For the last few oil changes i have noticed that when i take off my filter .. NO oil comes out.. and i mean NONE. Is this " normal " .. every other honda i do a oil change on the filter stays "mostly" full. Its a new oil pump " not shimed or taken apart or anything.. just new and was primed properly when motor was built". So .. am i missing something, or do i have a faulty check valve in my pump.

I think it's a problem with the drainback valve in the filter. Seems like I'm always getting dry filters nowadays too. Would be interested if you find its something else....

If I change it warm there is oil in the filter. If it sits overnight and I just change it without starting, then no drips or oil in the filter, but it takes several hours. Does not speak highly of the valve.

I agree its a bad drain back valve. Its supposed to keep oil in there to lubricate the engine when you start it up in the morning.
Its probably a Fram. They have terrible construction quality.

Hey guys. Thanks for the thoughts and I am begening to think the same. Oil filter may just be the cause. 1334 napa gold. Yea yea I know. If I didn't live in the sticks, I would, and now am going to be looking for a new parts supplyer. Napa has gotten my last buck I think. Only downside .. neariest parts house besides napa is an hour away. And online stuff now a days is just not worth the time n wait for just as bad of stuff. But for the most part cheep made products seem to be everywhere. One other quick question. My dizzy took a **** AGAIN.. 4 th one in a year. All my wireing is fine. I gaurentee that. Has anyone had any "bad luck" with the msd ext coil kits / blaster coil with the td42u dizzy. Sometimes its worth asking before buying. Thanks again guys.
