2000 civic si misfires. ... did a search important please read and help
Alright. About 2 months ago, i replaced the ignition coil, cap and rotor. Car stopped its puttering and misfires for a bit. Problem continued a week later. Did a voltage test and we replaced the ignitior.
Car has been fine since then. well over the weekend it started it again. But not as bad though. before it was constant after 4400 rpms and that was the end of it, no more reving. now it feels like i have 2 vtecs lol. waho jk.
She NORMALLY does it after 5500 or so, its real quick then it does it for a bit takes off again.
at idle it does it ever so often and if it does it twice it cuts off. The wires weren't replaced and i noticed this morning the dealer never put the screw that holds the rotor on.
could that be the problem the rotor is arcing or something??
all were replaced with oem hondaparts straight from manchestor honda and honda automotive parts.
could it be the wires or rotor?
im clueless.
ps when the dist was removed for the ignitor to be replaced it was in a1 condition.

YOU replaced the cap and rotor, or did the dealer? You state "and i noticed this morning the dealer never put the screw that holds the rotor on." This would definately cause a problem as the rotor shifts around due to centrifugal force and shifts your ignition timing.

It seems like you've tried everything but replacing the plugs! Check 'em out... and while they're out, might as well pop some new ones in.

now my damn car acts like it has a 5500 rpms rev limit. new wires and distributor cap are on its way.
what else could it be, all the grounds are fine, wiring also seems fine. its almost like a fuel cut however my fp is reading a steady 45psi at the filter.
its sucking in air, the car sounds found. compression was also good. its just doing this after 5500 rpms.
anybody thinking bad distributor
