1995 Honda Civic Overheating
I have a 1995 Honda Civic that just all of a sudden started overheating for no reason. There are no leaks from the radiator or hoses. After the car overheated and cool downed, I topped off the radiator with a 50/50 mixture, but the car still is overheating. Also, there are no water leaks either (i.e. from the water pump). I am not a car expert, but I know a thing or two. What would be anyone's guess as to what is causing this? My only guess is the thermostat? I am able to still drive the car with the heater on full blast, while watching the temperature gage. Also, I haven't had the radiator flushed in years, nor has the thermostat been changed. In addition, the radiator cap looks good without any rust or cracks.
Lastly, just before the radiator overheated, I had the air conditioning running for about 20 minutes. Thanks for anyone's wisdom and knowledge into this thread.

I have the same temp problem with my 95 civic, it doesn't overheat right away I can the fwy for an hour but when there is traffic temp starts to go up fan will kick on temp goes down but when fan goes off temp goes up coolent comes out over flow tank, also I turned ac on when temp was up and ac fan went on but radiator fan turned off. I changed the radiator cap and thermostat and water pump so I'm stumped

Get an IR thermometer and shoot it around the engine bay to see where the overheating is coming from...You will need to know the normal operating temperature of the engine as a reference, or get a car with the same engine shoot both to see the difference. Also, I would shoot the ancillaries (i.e. hoses, intake manifold, headers, catalytic converter or mods).

Re: 1995 Honda Civic Overheating
I wasn't sure about the thread to be answer to my question. I was looking here for engine heat up due to turning on AC while Driving in my 95 civic Sedan. My AC technician told me that in this model there was a problem with design where bonet is covering partial area where AC condenser is located so it lacks the flow of direct outside air to pass in order to prevent it from over heating the engine bay. In further models 97 civic Sedan had the slight change in design with a grill in front so no engine heat ups anymore.
so I was wondering if there is any possibility that I can put a 97 bumper on 95 civic Sedan? If I can then what I need to get n do to get it done with minimal cost.
