will 2000 civic si sway bars be compatible with ASR subframe brace?

will 2000 civic si sway bars be compatible with ASR subframe brace?
so i hear that having anything above a 20mm sway bar can rip part of your frame off. so that's why they made ASR subframe braces.. anyways i will not be going 20mm, i am getting a 2000 civic si sway bar for free and i am buying a genuine ASR subframe for a GREAT price. anyways i was wondering if the civic si sway bar is "too thin" for the ASR brace? will a 13mm or 14mm sway bar fit on that brace without a problem? does it need to be a specific thickness? its going on my 97 civic ex coupe. thanks

Becuase the ASR was desinged around using a 22mm+ sway which run different (larger) d brackets then the smaller (13mm) sway bars.
You "can" but you'll need to get adjustable (aka universal) d brackets. That will work, but I have no idea on the bushings.
I think you can use the orginal bushing, but I don't know.

But the mounting holes are the same so I am having a hard time picturing why a smaller bar would NOT work.

This is a 6th gen subframe, with a ITR (22mm) d bracket. See the diference?

The ITR D bracket is larger, there for the holes are not in the right spot. You can't use the smaller D bracket style on the ASR.
I took that from this thread:

Edit- I know there is a few other threads about this same thing, that show the actual issue with the ASR brace, but I can't seem to find them right this minute. This should help you understand the issue.

this.
i have had a 99/00 si rear sway bar on my 97 coupe for 3 years now.
daily driven and lots of mountain runs.
no tearing on the subframe.
but if your heart is set on a shiny brace, use the asr brackets and some 13mm bushings.

You're right about the brace. I had to remember the design of it. And if all you want to run is a small 13mm then the brace isn't needed.

And I agree. The brace is definetly not needed for anything this small. But maybe he wants it for the bling?
For the reccord, I have a SI bar on my 98 DX and it's been there for 1.5-2 years. No issues what so ever.
