Re: Strut bar and Pillars bar (BLUE EH3)
Got with a cheap bar that has good fitment like a megan racing for $35. The bars decrease body flex and you can definitely feel the difference. It may not make a huge difference such as stiffer springs, lower height, and sway bars but I guess when you're outta suspension mods... heh, there's something to do.

That is the only correct answer.
Save the monkey bars for the playground.

people keep swearing that they have absolutely no effect, however i have cheap front and rear strut bars on mine (megan racing) and i really could feel a noticeable difference.
its not night and day, but they aren't expensive parts either.
but, definitely consider a rear sway bar, those make an undeniable difference.

Just one bar (c pillar bar) in a coupe or sedan won't do anything for you. The speaker tray is a huge metal reinforcement beam that is 10000 times stronger than a flexible-joint c pillar bar. So a c pillar bar would be only for looks.
Yes, I have one, and yes, it does nothing.
If anything, the 3-bar system should do something as it emulates what a cage does.

idiot, there saying c-pillar bar alone dosent do anything which is CORRECT, i just took mine off, now strut-tower bars are another story, yes they work. i have cusco front and rear and it IS night and day.

They are also pretty much useless. I'd suggest listening to the advice in this thread, and passing on the pillar and strut bars. If you want something that will actually stiffen the structure of the car, look to Korbach Framelocks and the previously mentioned cage.
The monkey bars and pillar bars and all that serve for looks and obstructing access to those parts of the car, that's it. If you want it for the looks, go for it, but then understand that for performance gains, your money could have been better spent elsewhere.

Same thing, more or less. On the list of mods that will improve handling, they will be bringing up the rear along with the monkey bars.
People saying they "feel" that the car is stiffer is a lot different than actual improvements in structural rigidity.

wrong wrong wrong, im really getting sick of you saying stuff that is wrong, none of those bars obstruct a thing unless you plan to climb from your back seat to your turnk in which case a cage will be in your way if you get that and so will the em bars or strut bars so that was pointless to say. USELESS HUH? so honda gurus such as SPOON and MUGEN are just making useless parts? carbing is a useless company? honda makes useless parts? your so wrong i cant even begin to say it, ive had 4 civics i put strut bars on all of them and the current one has cusco front and rear bars and it significantly reduces sway when turning and takes the BOAT feel out of the car. yes a cage helps too and so do sway bars, BUT that is NOT to say strut bars are useless.

im willing to bet ive been fixing up honda's longer than your coilover company has been around, your WRONG. i agree with you on the C-pillar bar alone being useless but strut bars on honda's work end of story. if they didnt why would HONDA make factroy stut bars for the GSR, type-R's, and Si?
