If I have the master spring I should be ok, but I’m not.

This is how it sits with the wheel on and car on ground. Full weight doesn’t compress it enough.
For my 95 civic EX sedan I ordered S2 sport shocks and springs with part number 519_05_1480 but received 519_05_0005. I didn’t notice it was a different part number till things didn’t want to mesh up. When I tried to assemble them together on the drivers front, I couldn’t get the spring compressed. The spring compressor’s “teeth” from auto zone wouldn’t fit in between the coils so I loosely mounted it up and tried using the weight of the car and it still didn’t compress enough. After some research I found that part number ending in 1480 (part I should have gotten) is the same as the part number I received, that it’s a master spring. Well then what am I doing wrong??? I’ve lowered 4-5 cars in my time, not to mention a full size pickup.

Never mind. With the help of a friend we got it.

Kind of what I remember from using those shocks with H&R race. That makes sense.

I found that I used all the bumps stops provided (the bottom full sized black one and two orange ones) plus the factory one that goes in the top hat, not allowing enough space to to add washer and nut to be tightened. So I removed one of the orange ones and used the factory black one in top hat because it’s shorter, allowing me to button everything up.
So yes the springs I received, even though it was a different number, did work just fine.
After a few days of usage I feel that the combo works pretty good. I don’t race or track the car, nor do I plan to “stance” it despite the slightly stretched tires. I just wanted something to tighten up the ride.

Instructions specifically said NOT to cut bump stops or that it would void the warranty. It was weird because the way they came Preassembled, didn’t match up at all to the way the instructions were saying to line them up. Like I said I’ve lowered my 2015 Si, F-150, dodge neon, cutlass supreme, even a Suzuki Swift 🤣but none were as confusing as this civic.

This is confusing. There is only one bump stop per damper. Are you talking about the top hat bushings? The Skunk2 dampers same with poly top hat bushings too. You should not have tried to reuse the factory stuff or cut the Skunk2 bump stops.

Ya that’s what it was. Mistake on my part. I miss took the top hat bushing for a bump stop and added the factory top hat bushing back in 🤦. For someone that’s lowered cars before I don’t know how that got by me. Oh well, live and learn. On to my next project.
