Default Please help troubleshoot brake problem!

01 Civic ex. 1 wk ago, brake lights stay on. Fluid level good. Male "helper-neighbor" disconnects brake switch and when reconnects- it goes off. Next morning, try driving to work and realize passenger front brake is smoking. leave car on road and go buy new calipers and install on both sides. Try driving home, but still feelimg resistance. Purchase new brake lines for both sides (maybe hose collapsed internally) good at first but eventually (5 mins driving), BOTH front brakes were grabbing- not smoking but rims would steam when water splashed. Within the last 6 months this car has has had new tires, alignment, brakes, rotors, and NOW recently calipers and brake lines. lines have been bled several times. Any ideas? Suggestions? I need this car running and I live in a small rural town. Thanks for reading!

Also, please provide a lot more detail about this male "helper neighbor".

The calipers are new, installed on both front because the passénger caliper clamped down and was smoking. The male that came over to "assist" may have messed with something under my dash near the brake light switch that 1) made the brake light go off 2) start this chain of events.

The caliper slide pins are not part of the caliper. They are part of the caliper bracket. They allow the caliper to float into and away from the rotor.

Are those siezed? Did you buy a new caliper bracket?

What did you do prior to the calipers "locking down".

Your description reminds me of a lot of Honda owners who attempt to adjust the brake pedal for better "response" only to fry the front brakes as a result. Technicians also do this ALL the time!

If you brake lamp is stay on, without the parking brake applied, you need to reference a schematic and find the source of the problem.

If you are not willing to put forth the effort for basic checks that are reliable, we can't help you effectively. We need background information, in a logical fashion. Provide us with as much as you can, please break your information in to relevant paragraphs instead of spouting out everything at once.
