A more accurate comparison would be the D1's or D1a's.
The Apex include several spring rate combinations, among them the D1 and D1a, the D1 being just a pair of 18k rear coilovers, and the D1a being a pair of 18k rear coilovers with a full set of Apex P2 coilovers.

Improved over an Omni Drag setup or improved over stock? You might want to clarify that.

^^ Improved over their existing upgraded suspension. Definately improved over stock, that's pretty much a given.

Improved over the Omni Drag setup or improved over an off-the-shelf spring setup? I don't see a huge difference between the Omni and PIC setups.
I know a lot of SFWD/Turbostreet racers are currently running the Omni setup, so there isn't a lot of information right now on Omni vs. PIC.
To the original poster, what is your price range? I know of a few people running setups from Progress suspension and also some with custon springs on revalved Koni's.

^^ Simplicitly, it's a drag setup. All you need is very stiff spring rates in the rear with aggressive valving to reduce squat, and some good rebound damping in the front. That's not hard for any company to provide. With that said, I've spoken to people running the drag setup by PIC and getting great results from them, so I suggested PIC, that's all. I'm not downplaying OMNI nor did I say that the PICs out-performed the OMNIs.

I've never heard of anybody using the PIC drag setup. I've heard a decent amount about their stuff for road racing and such, but never for drag racing. Where are you getting your "improved performance" stories from?

Okay, so just b/c you have never heard of anyone using the drag setup means no one out there is using it??
There are people running them in Kansas, MO with great results sold to by Chuong from RevLine Motors. Just because it's not in your neck of the woods doesn't mean it doesn't exist out there. PIC is new and people are slowly gaining some insights on them.

Re: (PIC Performance)
That sucks but thanks for answers. I guess I will get used to changing rear struts out.
Either that or get a back brace while driving to the track.

Re: (sauceja)
Well typically something like the drag setup would be used on a strictly drag-raced car. We offer the D1a package which is the drags + a full set of Apex P2's for people who can't afford a track-only car, but really there's a lot that can be done to improve you 1/4 times before changing to 18k rears.

Re: (PIC Performance)
I was thinking more of around 11k rears. This is not a dd car more like a 3rd car for me.
I do want stiffer as it will be mainly dragged but flexible enough to drive to and from track and possible some weekend carousing.
Just got my db8 for cruising which I think I may put my agx's and neuspeed springs on that so I will be in the market for a better more drag oriented suspension on my hatch.
