Would probably work, don't know how well though.

I have peel n seal in my civic. It's just really thin, so would have to double maybe triple layer to get what your looking for.

Dynamat is to reduce vibration. This is achieved through mass on the metal panels. Lightweight insulation, which is typically used for most home insulation types, won't achieve this.

However, since you're asking about reduction in road noise, is entirely different, and dynamat is not intended to treat this. You're still going to want something with more mass then temperature insulation though. You want acoustic foam insulation.

roofing peel and seal is not the same and is toxic due to the gassing fumes from the tar thats on it.

im talking about frost king self stick/foam/foil wrap for duct work. non toxic non gassing
also states that its great for dampening sounds and vibrations throughout the
house.

I would love for someone to do a before/after with a spectrum analyzer app and a cheapo dB meter from Radioshack. Definitely interested, but I like quantifiable results

I work with ice and water shield (roofing crap you're talking about)

please dont put it in your car. 1. That **** is gross.. 2. Its for protection against ice, not sound. 3. Its a crappy product

you might be talking about a different stuff, the factory sound deadening, is also a tar bases crap, if you freeze it with dry ice you can knock it off in sheets

False. I covered my car from windshield bottom, to the trunk. It was a stripped out car for 8 months in the middle of a Florida summer. Just one seat and a silver interior finish looking like NASA got ahold of it lol. It never once smelled like tar.
