Help: How-To remove brake clip holding brake lines?? **Pics** 92-95 Civic
I installed my LS trailing arm assembly. E brake cables are installed, everything ready to go except....
I just need to remove the old VX lower brake line "A" to connect the LS brake lines. Is there a trick to removing the clip located in the 2nd pic? I looked in the Helms manual and it looks to just slide straight back. However I have tried pulling it back with no movement from the clip. Should I try twisiting it first? The helms suggests to replace the clip once removed, but not sure if this is necessary.
Thanks for any help

spray it down with pb blaster or wd 40 to loosen out the dirt and stuff. then get a good pair of needle nose pliars, grab the lip of it, and wiggle it back and forth and loosen it out. it will come out.

I used flat nose pliers (see pic) to grab the tab that is sticking upward. Basically the pliers are pointing downward. Then lever the pliers toward the chassis (against the brake hose) to lever the clip away. This works really well...

I use needle nose "vice grips", and adjust it to where it JUST grabs the clip on both sides, so you can pull it straight out. If it is the first time coming out, it will be fairly sticky.
BTW that is VERY clean!

Re: Help: How-To remove brake clip holding brake lines?? **Pics** 92-95 Civic (SlowEgg)
Thanks guys for the tips/info. I was able to remove the clips without damaging them, installed the new lines, bleed all the brakes, and took the car around the block.
I'm going to upgrade the master cylinder next and bleed the system again.
I cleaned the entire trailing arms before installing. I was going to paint them black but after seeing how clean they came out and how much of a PITA it was going to be I decided not to paint them.
I will be painting the LCA's and OEM sway bars before installing though.

because using the vice grips, you dont risk bending it. i tried a screwdriver first when i did mine, and it got bent. vice grips/pliers keep it looking new.
