This is a thread for spring rates not car height.
exactly. the ride height can be altered regardless of the spring rate on the ground controls.
Sounds like some of you are thinking xxx lb-ft/in. spring = xx" drop.

If your spring rate is higher (stiffer) you can go lower than say a spring that is 100 lb-ft/in.
less. Doesn’t necessarily mean you have to make it as low as possible.

Havent updated the thread for a while, I made my decision back in November and got 430F/330R, the ride is amazing and is a little more rough than stock IMO, im 5'3" 115, maybe thats the reason lol. Full stiff, is has a real noticeable difference.

^ depending on how low you are going to run it, at a moderate height it should be pretty smooth.

Yes, you should have have got higher spring rates, at least in front.

^Thats what i got, im waiting until spring to see how they feel though. From the sounds of it, 450/350 is a good combo of street/track use. I consulted some representatives from Ground Control before coming to that decision.

Yes. The OTS rates are just too low to support a low ride height height.

you could run into scubbing issues in corners. The extra 100lb's or so will deffinetly help the front end.

IMO the OTS rates are just too low to begin with.

thanks that makes me feel better. so what does the numbers mean? would 450 be 450 pounds per inch of travel? and does anyone know of a close ratio of weight distribution in these cars? (would it be like 70% weight of total car on front wheels 30% on rear for example)

Not quite sure on how GC does it, but you may get something like this.

450.8.2.5

450lb 8'' long 2.5'' wide

Means it taks 450lb to compress the spring one inch.

Those are soo close to the widely used 450/350, plus I doubt you could even tell a difference.

Same here, my mudguards are shearing apart, no bottoming out tho. The mudguards are about half an inch off the ground.
