Those scream cheap china to me. I would go with something else like the AMR tophats, extended or not.

We offer extended top hats, but they are made to order. If you want to see if anyone uses a particular brand then I would suggest starting another thread like the previous poster stated.

Should have these soon. Will take pictures before and after I paint them.
Will be spraying candy purple along with a few other accessories to match the silver/purple theme I have been doing since the beginning of time.

Re: Does anyone make CNC aluminum strut tophats for DC2/EG?
Had Andy @ AMR Engineering whip me up the first set of oem height universal CNC tophats for my KW's. I suppose you could call these prototypes as they are the first set he's made for the KW crowd to my knowledge.
I told him no rush and that I was planning on spraying them purple down the road to match the theme of the car.
Andy sends me a message and tells me they are on the way, amped and expecting a set of fresh aluminum tophats I wait. He had asked me a couple weeks prior what kind of purple the theme was since he hadn't seen the car yet, I sent him a pic and waited on a reply and he then says they are going to be shipped soon.
Today, a box arrives, I open it when I see the name on it, I rush to open it, and wow.....seriously wow!!!! Andy went out of his way to have them powdercoated candy purple for me to match the theme and new KW setup!
I am in awe still. The machinework is perfect, and anything I ever need machined Andy, you have the job for!
KW V3's + AMR CNC Tophats + ENERGY Susp Poly Isoltors = SERIOUS BUSINESS

I just painted my stock ones and replaced the upper shock bushing in the top hat with the energy suspension bushings and threw in some energy suspension coil spring isolators. Seems like a solid setup to me unless you are in dire need for extended top hats.

Re: Does anyone make CNC aluminum strut tophats for DC2/EG?
A few reasons.
1. I wanted to keep the original dimensions that KW built their coilovers to be around. (Oem tophat sizing, oem height for rod to be compressed etc)
2. I have a moderately lowered vehicle, have never hit bumpstops so extended for me was not a need.
3. I wanted something better than the stamped steel honda tophats (sometimes I have to go over the top or think outside of the box on projects), I didn't have my oem set anymore, and I couldn't justify the cost on stamped ones from the dealer when a machinist such as Andy was willing to take on this unique project.
4. It may not mean much to a lot of people. But these were made in the USA and id like to support local machinists who are skilled. What if something didn't fit right? No chance of fixing the design outsourcing overseas for machinework you know?

No problem, I am glad myself and Andy could get this project jumpstarted for those in need of some OEM cnc tops!

I have high quality SLR shots that a friend took, but here is a quick one from my cell when I was installing the setup yesterday.

Re: Does anyone make CNC aluminum strut tophats for DC2/EG?
I just listened to your voicemail. Thank you very much for your kind words you had left me. It was my pleasure to do that for you, and as I have said many times I care a great deal about my customers. Even simple projects like this is important to us.
I have been a member of this forum for over 10 years, and the people on here has not only provided me a way of life, but also saved me. If it was not for my customers, I could easily be dead right now. I live with that everyday, and I will never forget that for the rest of my life. So if there is an opportunity that I can do a lil extra and go above and beyond I will. It's that simple.
Arn't you glad I got you the part number to those ES bushings. They worked perfectly. I wished KW would use a damn normal spring!!
As for EXTENDED top hats we offer them, and have for awhile. I just have not gone out of my way to offer them as it's not something I have had time to do.

Re: Does anyone make CNC aluminum strut tophats for DC2/EG?
No problem Andy, and thank you.
KW/AMR combo = OUT OF THIS WORLD :D
There is actually a tech video that is in the process of being edited, and SLR quality shots that my friend took that I will link you to once it's all done.
The energy isolators did fit great, for those who need them, just buy the ones that are made to fit OEM strut setups as the KW spring (top end) shares the same diameter of the stock honda spring.
I emailed you about custom machine work which two people who I know wanted me to contact you about. When you get a chance check your email and let me know and I can give you their contact info. One is for extended tophats, one is for shiftknobs.
Hopefully all of the other folks in this thread who needed some OEM height CNC tophats know where to go now. These fit up great alongside the KW's (and should with almost all other setups as well) and the only specific part you have to match up is really the spring isolator depending upon the OD/ID of your coilover mfg's spring size.
Just so you know as well, the steel spacers you provided to fit inside the bushings were the exact size that KW's require so you know to jot that down for other KW owners who need a set.
