DC5/EP3 Owners: TEIN FLEX TOO BOUNCY?
i got mine couple months ago, and it was ridiculously bouncy, when i go over train tracks or wavy bumps, im bouncin out of my seat. it feels as though my car's got that ricer bounce to it. i want to know if its just my car, or if its like this for everyone else's...i spoke to someone that had flex's on his rsx and it was the same for him. i took it out to the track earlier this week to test them out, it's nice and feels good on the turns, but for daily driving...eh no. it doesn't feel stiff, its so bouncy when i drive on the road. if its suppose to be like this, i would have rather wasted the $1600 + extra on better suspension. anyone else got the same prob?

That is the same results that we got when we were comparing our setup that we make to the Tein Flex setup. We actually had a customer come by and he asked for me and he told me the exact same thing you did. We went for a test drive, and the ride is just horrible. It doesn't help matters when your also rollin on stock wheels and tires on that stiff of a setup. If I remember right it's like 12/14 or something. Also having that 14k rear spring in the *** end doesn't help much in terms of ride quality. On top of that I am sure you have the upper pillowball mounts, they should come standard. That is not really helping ride quality at all. So you kinda know where I am getting at. That setup is not meant for anyone lookin to daily drive their car or even looking for a sporty ride.
There really isn't much you can do, the adjustment range is basically useless to you right now. Sell that **** and give me a call. OR PM me if you have any further questions.

yea try out different settings and spring rates, usually with that kind of money i wouldnt get flex either, i think basic damper is even better than flex ride quality wise but thats just me. try playing with the settings and see which set up u like best

He can play with the settings, but it's not going to give him the ride quality he is looking for. Yes you can mess with spring rates, but the way they are valved from the factory I wouldn't change them more than 3-4k and that's on the extreme side.

You click on the username and then that will open up his/her information "profile". Then there will be a link that says "Send Instant Message To" Just click that, and a pop up box will open that you can type in. You are a trial user so you may not have that option yet.

Tammy, based on your post it seems as if the ride quality feels similar to the bounciness of, for example, a car lowered on the stock shocks or cut springs, just all mushy and feeling like its bouncing all over the place when you roll over train tracks instead of just more of a firmness that rattles the interior when it hits a bump correct?
I dont have Flex's so I guess I can't totally answer your question but my spring rates on my Buddy Club N+ are 10k/14k so they are pretty close to the 12k/14k on the flex and they definitely feel more stiff than bouncy. On the stiffer damper setting they feel like they will knock the fillings out of your teeth if you hit a bump on many Chicago roads as opposed to the bounciness I had when I had lowering springs and stock shocks on the same car.

Re: DC5/EP3 Owners: TEIN FLEX TOO BOUNCY? (E-Money)
to be honest with you. why are you going to get a type Flex when the spring rates are 670 and 780. those are not meant for the street. going on the track is straight with no bumps. but the streets have many potholes, bumps and etc. so when you run over a bump, what do you expect, the springs to compress? honestly even if you set the settings to the softest you will still get no ride quality what so ever. so if you want ride quality go basic or Super Street. bouciness on that suspension means that it is very good shock rebound. so be happy with what you got not for the ride quality but how they perform on the track.

Re: DC5/EP3 Owners: TEIN FLEX TOO BOUNCY? (RSX-R)
Maybe this is the case with the newer EP3/DC5 applications?
I driven and rode in a EK with EK9 spec Tein Flex.
Rode smooth even when lowered about 2.5inch-3inch.
Dont remember the settings but it does not bounce as bad as everyone says, and i live in Malaysia with crappy roads.

Type Flex on an EK9 is not nearly as stiff as the EP3/DC5 so that is why the EK9 is not that bouncy. DC5 spring rates are much more stiff
