Car is not braking!

so a couple weeks ago i was coming home from work and my front brakes started burning. the pedal got really stiff and i couldnt brake at all. i let it sit for a couple days and drove it again. the pedal wasnt as stiff anymore but the car would do a rolling stop. it woudnt brake hard if i slammed the pedal it would keep going then stop. i changed the booster, bled the brakes and put new brake fluid in and it still does the same. the brakes aernt even a year old. I was wondering if anyone could help me out.

You changed the booster? Sounds like a master cylinder problem to me if you dont notice any fluid leaks at the calipers.

What year and model car? Stock brakes?

Yea just the booster, I was told that's wat I could be. I still have a extra master cylinder. And it's stock brakes, 93 eg hatch. I didn't notice any leaks at all

I've had this problem before twice. First time it turned out to be a vacuum leak. Second time it was a bad master cylinder.

First time I just threw the master cylinder in there without bench prepping it, and the problem persisted, so I had to pull it off and bench prep it before installing it - then it worked really well.

How do you bench prep?

take your master cylinder and lock it in a vise on a bench, fill it with fluid, then they make caps with little rubber hoses that you screw into were the break lines go and run the rubber hoses back into the resivour then use a screw driver and push on the master cylinder like you would when pushing the brakes, and you are gonna have to do this a lot of times and you will see little bubbles go through the rubber lines, each time you do this, after a while the bubbles stop, and you have offically bench blead a master cylinder, then just reinstall might have to bleed out your lines and you should be good to go

Sounds complicated but I'll give it a shot. Thanks
