That was too easy.

But seriously. If you lower your car, it will gain negative camber. Camber is when the top of the tire is tilted relative to the bottom. A little negative camber on most modern cars is a good thing for handling. Usually anything less than -2.5 degrees does not require a camber kit to correct it. However, negative camber combined with toe in or out can result in excessive tire wear.

So what I recommend you do is go to a shop that can do a 4 wheel alignment. Get them to set the front and rear toe at 0 and tell them not to worry about the negative camber. Ask them for the final printout. Read the camber line for all 4 corners. If all are -2.5 or higher then you are ok (-2.5 -2 -1.5 are all good but -3 would be bad)

Judging from your picture it looks like you have less than -2 degrees and should be fine.

One final thing. Look at the tread on your tires. If the are not wearing too unevenly then you are ok (look for more wear on the inside than the outside) Since you have been driving on the tires for a year then the odds are your suspension is fine and you can ignore your friend's advice.

regards,
alan
