94 Civic Wheel Bearing Replacement?
Hi, so I have a 94 Civic coupe that I am getting some noise out of the front wheel bearings in. I know you're supposed to take the hub off and have the bearings pressed in by a shop, but I have also heard there is a way to press them in yourself using the axle nut.
I am mechanically inclined so if I can avoid taking this to a shop and save some money doing it myself I would rather go that route. I would greatly appreciate any help I could get from someone who has had experience doing this themselves.

Re: 94 Civic Wheel Bearing Replacement?
Nobody knows how to replace the wheel bearing on the car? I know there is a way to avoid going to a shop to have it done, I just don't want to start taking my car apart guessing what I'm doing when I'm 300 miles away from home. I have to drive back Wednesday so I'm hoping to get this taken care of before then. If anyone has any feedback please help. Thanks.

Take it to a shop. Not only will they have to press out the old hub before pressing out the old bearing but they'll also (more than likely) have to cut the old race off the hub.
It's not a complicated process, but you do need a press and a good rotary cutting tool.

I don't cut it off the hub but make two deep vertical incisions on either side then hit one with the air hammer.
I'll try the torch method my next time though!

Re: 94 Civic Wheel Bearing Replacement?
I found a shop to do it for about $80 so I think I'm just going to take it and have it replaced. I've spent the last week putting my turbo kit on and replacing my clutch so I'm good on projects for awhile lol. Thanks guys.
