OFFICIAL: Shock Dynos

I figure this would be a great first OFFICIAL thread for this new forum. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif
Hopefully some experts can teach us all a thing or two about reading them as well.
About shock dyno testing, how to read the dynos, and some sample dynos: http://www.koni-na.com/presentations/civic/

i think lee summed it up best with 98% of the JDM stuff your get tons of clicks and barely ANY adjustment

sander 01-04-2005 05:04 PM

Re: (slammed_93_hatch)

Yeah, well zeal isnt as crazy as the rest of them with 16+ clicks. zeal just has 6.
And id be interersted in the dynos for comparison (and thought other people may too)

omniman hasn't been dying to get a set to eibach, who has requested them. they are only about 20 minutes of LA traffic away from eachother http://images.honda-tech.com/set1//smile/emcrook.gif

yeah... also, koni AND eibach both offer to dyno shocks for free as long as you pay shipping. with the number of people that have the omnis you'd think someone would send them a set https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emsad.gif to be honest, i'm pretty damn curious as well since there is so much hubub about them.

Lee did get a set he didn't ever post the charts though. here is what he said when i asked him about them

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by shock dude &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">
Not well really. Not adjustable, very simple curve and mono-tube will make it ride harsher I expect (but haven't driven on it). I would say that the Omnipower wopuld stack up pretty well against the lower priced non-adjustable units and some of the cheaper adjustables. It is not a great shock from what I saw, just better than a low of shocks that come in kits at that price range. Most kit shocks in that range (and some higher priced) are total junk. I am not concerned about the Omnipower as competition for the Koni Sport even off the shelf- an apples and oranges comparison if real funciton is expected

Aren't Zeals the same a JICs? If so, several people on this site have had major issues with JIC.

NO. I have never EVER heard of any problems with Zeal, and they're two entirely different companies/designs.
