Re: ANAHEIM -STOLEN- CIVIC
This is odd, I just did a alarm on the same car with the same sticker. He even gave me a extra sticker of the one both of you have. Crazy

looks like it was pushed by another car but still looks salvageable...i went to Engine Trend in Vernon about 2 weeks ago and they got a super clean *** D16Y8 complete engine for sale if your planning on rebuilding and they do installations there too

Re: ANAHEIM -STOLEN- CIVIC *UPDATE* CAR RECOVERED
...It had a tuned JDM ITR swap in there with a full coilover and sway bar setup. They took the full powertrain, radiator, a/c system, the ENTIRE SUSPENSION system, gauge cluster, shift linkage, shifter, and shift ****. To put a D16Y8 back in there would barely scratch the surface of the problems. Thanks for watching out though, but it's too much of an eye sore to think about salvaging for the time being

Re: ANAHEIM -STOLEN- CIVIC *UPDATE* CAR RECOVERED
man it kills me that your car looked pretty much stock and yet they still went forth with stealing it. They got lucky that it had the ITR swap and other goodies cuz it would have been a pointless steal if it didn't. Did they know you had this swap by any chance? Like do you show it off at meets or work on your car a lot at your house?
These are just questions out of curiosity i don't mean to bother you while you are down i'm just trying to understand why they would have stolen what appears to be a mostly stock ex from the outside.

what type of security did they get by? viper?
i would think its safe to assume the thieves are really close
also, watch out for shops where you get work done at. cops told me, which i didnt even expect could happen, that shops bait from there location. get some work done next thing your know your car is stolen.

Re: ANAHEIM -STOLEN- CIVIC *UPDATE* CAR RECOVERED
Outside of really close friends, I never showed anyone what I had under the hood. Even the majority of my close friends, didn't know exactly what I had done to the swap. Infact, up until this incident, only 3 people knew exactly what I had done to my car, and 2 of those 3 knew exactly when things were done. I was one, Elton from Raceline was the other since he been the one doing the internal wrenching since the day his shop did the swap five years ago.
I had some generic brand 2-way alarm system that my brother got me four years ago. The pager piece fell apart on me a year or so ago, but the alarm itself still worked on the car. So I don't even know. It was installed by the shop my brother bought it from in Reseda. I haven't been back there for about 3 1/2 years.
The last time I went to a meet and took my car was back when I lived in Santa Barbara still, 2 1/2 years ago. That was to a Santa Barbara meet too, never in the OC. The only time I work on my car is when I go back home to visit my parents in SB since I don't have major tools or a good place to work on my car in the OC.

Re: ANAHEIM -STOLEN- CIVIC *UPDATE* CAR RECOVERED
Oh...they didn't. I changed it out to the Raceline plate cover a few years back since Raceline did so much work and tuning on my car. They are still worthless sacks of **** though regardless of that minor fact.
