Re: It's been a while. But this is my 11.50 Index street car.
Getting ready for 2017 race season. Might cage it and step up to 10.50 index. I also have to finish the "back-up" CSS block. I'm a little bored with the power, feels like a Prius in 3rd n 4th .
Re: It's been a while. But this is my 11.50 Index street car.
Nice car/build. I remember your silver ek from back in the day. I understand 100% stepping away from racing for real life stuff, I did the same(3 years hiatus) now back with the bug bad lol. Went from a turbo gsr in 2004 I blew up to a jdm gsr with bolt ons........now as of 2016 season it's a long block 07 k24a2 mated to a stock 02 rsx type trans, stock block and built head on 93 pump gas street car, registered and insured... driven to and from the track, no heat, no ac, no radio and completely gutted lol, but full glass and uncut. I am thinking of switching to pump e85...are you using pump e85? and do you like it? might also throw a kraftwerks supercharger on it next season. Hope to run 11.50 class this 2017 season.

Sorry, my sig needs to be updated. That was my old set-up. This one is a Stock OEM Ls block. Just ARP head studs , but stock pistons/rods etc.
Not sure what it's making . Dyno tuned and made like 330whp with issues. The issues were fixed and i just had my tuner clean the tune up on the street . Personal best on gate (12psi) was 11.3@127mph.. The car weighs 2420lbs with me (i'm usually at the track by myself , so i race with my tools/parts in the car. I left a jack in the pits few months ago and it got stolen ).

Thanks and yes, i drive it on the streets with the 3 piece front. I just ordered some 15x8 rims and some 225-50-15 R888s for the front . The current 215-50-15s don't quite fill the gap.

Yeaa man, sometimes you have to look at your priorities. yes, i'm on pump E85 (E70 now). Honestly , i think i could make the same power on pump 93. Only issue i had with the E85 was i had some clogged injectors ,but i don't think the E85 was alone to blame. Either way, i got them cleaned and all had been well.

The brakes work, haha. I've gone 11.30@127mph in 11.50 trim on a full pass. That pass felt faster than usual , so i pedaled a lil. I'm pretty sure it would have went a 11.30/high .20 and i would have broke out of index and lost that race.
Re: It's been a while. But this is my 11.50 Index street car.
Nice to see some people come back to the forum. I was wondering where everybody went. I'll be running 11.5 as well (IFO, CMI, IDRC) but not with a Honda.
Re: It's been a while. But this is my 11.50 Index street car.
this thread, as short as it is so far, has actually motivated me to get into bracket racing with my autocross car. so for that, I say thank you. And even better, my girlfriend approves and supports the choice
I'll be doing 11.5 index as well, once I can verify the class's existence at one of my local tracks, and check out the competition.

Only it's not bracket racing. Though if your local track has bracket nights/days the track is prepped so it's good opportunity to test.
Index racing is not bracket racing, it's head's up, .400 Pro Tree, first to the line; though if you run faster than your class index whoever breaks out more is the loser. That is the reason Pootie hits the brakes at the end to ensure he doesn't break out.
The idea is to run better than the class index and then only run as fast as you need to during eliminations. Some might think that's sandbagging; but there's no rules to prevent that in Index racing. In typical 16 car (usually less) field, the bottom half is usually occupied by cars than run way less than the class index, usually mid 12 second and maybe a few that runs 13's.
Check your local track for events, failing that check your regional tracks for events, failing that... Import Face Off introduced a 11.5 class this year with a regional points championship.
Re: It's been a while. But this is my 11.50 Index street car.
I haven't competed in autocross since I swapped chassis's recently, so there's no autox pics with the blue chassis. the black one rotted out so I swapped all drivetrain and suspension into the blue one.
3 time season champion in SM (SMF didn't have enough competition, it wasn't as fun).
Currently world record holder for fastest ET for my chassis without a motor swap at 11.99 @116.45mph. shooting for 10's within a year.

Re: It's been a while. But this is my 11.50 Index street car.
Congrats! Takes a lot of dedication to go all season and come up with the points championship!
A few of the local race promoters have started coming up with rules where you let off during a pass you are DQed, haha.
At our local track last time I was shooting for some PBs so I couldn't race the 11.5 index but then the only other class was the EFWD(SFWD). Ended up racing with all the turbo cars! Wish we had all the classes you guys had on the east coast!

Re: It's been a while. But this is my 11.50 Index street car.
Nice work Moto. Somehow my post got deleted???
Anyway I will be running this class. Right now I'm unsure if I can reach the class index from where I am currently before the first event here (Feb 26th).
But I should be at or below the class index by spring.

Are you running CMI? I thought they had a 11.5 class.

Possible it's more reliable running slower?
Car goes low 11s so I didn't want to short shift/lift to run 11.5. So I raced against the turbo/nitrous cars. This year there are talks of bringing back an all motor class "run what you brung".

So I guess that means you are going to drop the turbo engine out of your car and put in a fresh all motor build?
I'll start getting ready for IFO @ Famoso (Feb 25th) I hope this week.
