How high can i take my b20?
im in the process of a b20 swap that i will eventually place a type r head on. I DO plan on doing a bit of work on the block to handle it.
However until then i just have a b20z2 and a p08 ecu, i think the p08 redlines at like 7200 or something close to that. Keep in mind, I will have to daily this, the car has exhaust, and for now I have no tach so i wont know for certain where i am at. So, does anyone know if the b20 engine will handle 7200rpm?

I recommend upgrading the rod bolts once you put the type r head on. The type r head likes to flow at higher rpm range of 8k plus to get the most benefit out of the vtec.

Thanks i just wanted to be sure cuz i have this honda database app on my tablet(android) and i was comparing ecu/oem engine combinations and the b20z it would reline at 6700, but ecu code and rev limit were absent.

I will. 100% in plan is lsvtec kit(obvious), con rod studs, s300, and a blockguard for cylinder walk prevention

If it’s stock cams there’s no point in taking it that high. It just doesn’t make any torque up there. I don’t think I ever bothered going past 6500 until I upgraded.
