Default Total loss?

So it wasn’t my fault a older lady literally came just flying out of stop sign on me. Said her brother died, and life has just been crazy ever since. Well mine now too I literally just fixed the car from the last collision which wasn’t my fault either. but now I think it’s good as gone.

Once you open the hood it looks a lot worse, frame rail is bent to ****. Like the headlight is in the spot of the coolant resivior

What should I be expecting from insurance? I’m going thru her insurance, it’s State Farm. Car has a b16 if anything I want to keep atleast the motor?

a total loss more than likely. Remove the swap and use the money the insurance pays you. I doubt it will even be $2K.

Would keeping the car and taking the money to put it towards repairing even be a option at this point?

really not that bad. if you do decide to fix it, i have most everything to throw at it. if the quarters are clean, keep it. these are getting too rare.

That sucks...

Negotiate a deal with State Farm where you get paid "XXX" amount and you get to KEEP the car. If you settle and try to buy it back as suggested above, they cannot guarantee you first shot and you may get burned. Remember that if you don't like the value that they are offering, you can research what a replacement will cost and use that information to improve your value and their offer. Good luck.

Qp and basically the whole car was clean, no rust. B16 lsd tranny too, shifted great.

And yeah I was trying to stay away from buying it back but after talking to them it might not even be a option. I don’t know what hand I’m going to be dealt, only time will tell.

I like that ideology JRCIVIC1, I was going to press that. And the fact that their driver hit me, and none of this was my fault, nor should it had happened. And how inconvient and stressful this all has been.

that isn't the frame that looks bent, its the apron. it's thin steel and easily moved back. you need a core support, etc.

Yes. That is what I did when a State Farm member ran over my EG.
They (State Farm) kept trying to boof me on value until I went and posted on their FaceBook page what they were doing. Finally they hired an independent appraiser who valued my ride much higher than they did - then it was not totaled.
Some states will want to issue a Salvage Title if vehicle is totaled.

All this. Just make sure you are fact based when you press back. State Farm was not great to me, but they were covering the person that did the hitting, not me. Who was found to be at fault in the accident?

BTW, if you were IN the car, a day or 2 later, you WILL develop muscle aches. Think pain and suffering, soft tissue damage,PTDS, etc...
