93 Accord wipers coming on by themselves again
Hello All. I've made several posts about my 93 accord wipers coming on by themselves. It's still not fixed but now hopefully I can narrow it down. They haven't done it for a couple of months but early this morning I turned the headlights on and the wipers worked by themselves. I let it go maybe 20 seconds then turned the lights off and the wipers stopped. I don't see how the headlight switch can be related to the wipers. Maybe someone has an idea. Thanks

I don't have the CB chassis FSM in front of me, but the integrated control unit mounted on the D side fuse panel has wiring that shares the two sub systems. It may simply be the ground wire for the ICU has come loose and there is some backfeed into the wiper controls. G401 is a main bonding/ground termination near the fuse box. You will see ~10 wires going to what looks like a connector that is bolted to the body, make sure that connection is clean and tight, remove any corrosion or dirt between the body and bolted termination.

Hello Mad Mike. Thanks for the info. I'm not sure where you are but my Accord is a CB7 right hand drive. There is a bunch of fuses right next to the accelerator pedal on the side. It's where the wiper fuse is that I have to keep pulling out. You may be right that it's a bad earth. Are you able to be more precise to guide me to where these wires and earth is, maybe even send me a photo. Thanks

I remember seeing the ICU there near the fuses. Where is the earth wire you were refering to? I couldn't download the link you sent, it was opening up too many spam webpages. Thanks anyway

It is a bundle of a few grounds attached to a (usually) whitish connector that bolts to the body above the ICU. G401. It's up high, push the seat back or recline it and sit in it upside down to see, you will need a torch to look up under the dash.
There is also a ground ~2-3 wires that bolts to the channel that the front seat rails bolt too. I think there is a slit in the carpet where it is located for ease of access.
D'oH! Sorry about that. I didn't experience that.
I use Firefox with trackers blocked and have uBlock Origin and Disconnect add ons to block pop-ups, spam, and all that other crap that the web throws at us.

Hello Mad Mike. I took your suggestion and pushed the seat back, got on my back with a torch and I couldn't see any G401 or any Earth points, none on the seat rails either. I took a couple of photos where you can see the ICU, maybe you can direct me a little closer after looking at them
