1992 Civic VX - no start, sat for 11 years
I found a cheap '92 Civic VX a while back on CL and was shocked at how original and clean it was for $1200 and low mileage for a VX (148k), it wasn't until after I brought it home I realized it sat up for 11 years!I dropped the fuel tank and replaced it with a new one, and put a Walbro 255 fuel pump in. Changed out the fuel filter also, and have cleaned the grounds yet I have a persistent no-start issue. Fuel is getting to the rail in good pressure, but there is no spark or injector pulse. The main relay can be heard running the fuel pump and doing the various clicks, sounds okay. Checked the fuses, they're all good. Put a new coil/ignitor in the distributor along with a cap/rotor. Just got another ECU in the mail and tried it out to the same effect. Going to go to the junkyard today and grab another main relay, unsure what else to grab.. no CEL to go off of.
Hoping for some advice, I had a '90 CRX HF that was all stock and worked on it from time to time. It was a awesome car

Check that the cam and distributor rotate when you crank, i.e. the timing belt is OK. If the distributor does not rotate, the ECU sees zero RPM, it will not fire sparks or fuel.

Possibly the igniter? Check compression is always the first thing I do..... distributor could be bad?
compression
fuel
air
fire
= start.

If this is working and the distributor is working and spinning with the motor and you still don't get injector pulses, then these guys taught me it's to do with G101, the thermostat ground. Either it's corroded or there is breaks in the wires from there to the ECU.

FYI, the new pump is likely going to over run the stock VX Fuel Pressure Regulator (increasing your rail pressure) which will make it run super rich, if it runs at all. (drowns it)
replace the FPR with an aftermarket one and you should be fine.
Just doing a lot of re-circulation of the fuel since the VX sips fuel compared to the rest of the civics out there.
I had over pressure issues with my 92 VX with a 190 pump.

The timing belt is stripped or broken.
