D16y5 turbo
hello i have a 00 honda civic hx and was thinking about buying a turbo but wanted to know if i have to do any mods to head i heard that they could take boost stock but i dont know how much??

I agree with Tony_2018 and eghatch9295.
I'll add that your expectations and intentions will determine the extent of engine "prep." if you expect to make the best of the money and time and effort you spend getting the turbo on, set up and running right, at least do a compression test, a tune-up (all wear items in ignition, fresh fluids, valve adjust, timing check/adjust, ect.) and catch up on any other outstanding maintenance. (re-ring and valve lapping depending on compression test) have a little fun until something blows up and move on to the next thing.
if you want it reliable and plan to put a lot of (trouble-free) miles on it, do a refresh/rebuild. gasket set, crank/rod bearing set, timing belt "package", re-ring it everything else listed above... and head and rod studs.
if you want big power... go ahead and buy another engine, build it and swap it in. look for a Y8 so you can get rid of the EGR. sleeves, big cam, valve-train, ported oil pump, the whole deal.

Pretty much what everyone else has said, about any decent running Honda engine will take 5 psi and run forever. The issue is, everyone gets that taste of power and can’t stop which brings up the reason for all the suggestions of refreshing the engine which will be best for the long run.

Thanks guys i have been tryna find a b series but everyone is asking too much and i might build a y8 i could probably get my hands on one... thanks for the advice though really helpful
