I'm currently trying to finish up my build for a tune. Lsvtec turbo.
Programmed hondata for a base, cranked the car over and fired.
- noticed exhaust smoke smelled of gas/
- pulled dipstick, smell of gas as well.
Wideband just reads 22.4, and in the green. Unsure if it's running rich.
fuel guage is 60psi
no leaky injectors, but guess is they could be overspraying possibly?
any insight where to look would be great.
I don't want to fire it up again until I have this fixed and new oil / filter.

if the car runs normal? I’m guessing you might have a injector leaking while the car sets parked, fuel will leak around the rings into the oil pan until the fuel rail pressure dies down. I had a lawnmower that did this until the crankcase was 100% full of gas.... I’m guessing I was riding a bomb while mowing. I would do a compression test, fuel will wash out the cylinder walls until you lose compression if your not careful
Car runs fine when it was started.
Going to borrow or rent a comp tester this weekend.
No liquid or anything on the plugs or in the holes.
ive been told that a car running extremely rich can actually show up as extremely lean, if that’s the case you might be getting extra fuel blowing pasts the rings into the oil. Depending on the age or gap of the rings, getting some blow by would not be surprising. If you crank the car with the oil cap off, how much air puffs are coming out of the oil fill hole?
wideband cannot measure fuel. It can read only oxygen. Since you can smell fuel, definitely it is not burnt. Check when the fuel is sprayed. Might be against a closed valve. Reduce the fuel table and see any change in AFR. If no change you might be spraying against closed valve.

Where abouts is a setting to adjust the table for the opened or closed valve. If you guys can take a peek at the pics. My knowledge of hondata is still beginners
Hes speaking of a Valve you the ones in the head...theres no setting for it its strictly mechanical. Are you running a catch can?
Also what are your AFR's like while cruising/idle and at boost?
You will first need to fix that IAT error could be causing fueling issues. Disable Knock sensor via hondata
Try re calibrating your TPS....might be best to calibrate with multimeter first then via hondata that doesent look good...either you have a bad TPS or your settings/calibration are way off, Curious who tuned your car with knock sensor enabled one can only hope your IAT was functional at time of tune otherwise tune wouldn't be very accurate
I think the issues are more then likely the tune/ catch can issues I wouldnt worry about the comment about a valve just yet
You can adjust injector phase in hondata, witch is when the injection actually sprays. But I seriously doubt that’s the issue in this case. The setting is here in smanager, but don’t start messing with it unless you know what it is and how it works.
I have yet to take it for a street tune/ Dyno tune yet. Just the first start of the finished build and ran into this problem. Understand things won't be top notch until a proper tune, but not hauling the car 8 hours away with this issue.
I do have a catch can, I disabled the knocksensor tonight, I noticed that it wasn't disabled. I can look into the iat sensor issue/ tps calibration this week.

Yeah, myself not knowing much with hondata, I don't want to harm
the engine fiddling around with it.
