Civic won’t start!!!
i have been trying to find a way to fix my car but I have no luck. I have a 92 civic with a 99 b20z. Swapped car and it ran perfect no problems whatsoever. Recently my alternator went bad and I replaced it. But now the car won’t start unless I press the gas pedal. If I let go it will stall out and won’t start unless I give it gas. It will run fine if I keep giving it gas. I changed spark plugs and distributor (friend gave me a brand new one so why not). I want my car running but I don’t have much knowledge.

Re: Civic won’t start!!!
The IACV is the part that lets air into the engine so that it can start and idle with the throttle plate closed while no one is pressing the gas pedal. Also you should check your throttle position sensor with a voltmeter.

I forgot to mention I changed the iacv to one from my old manifold I cleaned it and put it on no change either. I will also check that out later. Would a vacuum leak also be a cause ? Just wondering

Is the CEL on?
Air leaking in causes rpm to increase on this type of system, so it's not that.
You should go through and check all the wire colors to make sure the sensor plugs are plugged onto the right things. There is a wiring guide sticky at the top of this forum that will help with that.
