Default Engine attempts to start but does not crank over

I recently acquired a built turbo motor and I went to put it into my del sol and everything went smoothly until it went to starting. Before I started it I checked for fuel, spark and compression and I had all three. And I had my tranny ground, valve cover ground and thermostat ground. So I go to start it and it turned over and over and it would try to fire then die as soon as I let go of the key. After about 30 minutes of trying it finally fired up and idled good but after that same thing can't get it started so I'm wondering mabye the dizzys bad? Or what do you guys think. The motors a sleeved b18b with a built p8r head and stock non vtec dizzy from the junkyard thanks

What injectors, ecu, and base map are you running if any?

Bosch 1000cc, hondata s300 v2, and I can't remember who made the basemap off the top of my head

Check fuel pressure at the rail.

I'm just using the factory fuel pressure regulator what should I check?

Make sure your injector compensation and dead times are accurate. Also to check fuel pressure, just borrow or purchase a test kit and hook it up somewhere on the rail. Should read 43 psi when the key is turned to on and pump is primed.

alright I'll check that out this weekend! Thanks. What should I look for in my injector compensation and dead times?

That you have the injector sizing parameter set to 1000cc and the dead times match the data sheet that came with the injectors...

so whoever I had make me a base map has it different then what I told him would this be a reason why it won't start

What is different and what did you tell them?

If you have a flow sheet for the injectors, 890cc could be the actual flow. My 1000cc's flow 925cc at 43.5psi.

So now I'm not getting any fuel through the injectors! The fuel pump primes rightup real nice but when I go to turn it over it doesn't fire and the spark plugs are dry and don't smell like gas at all. My sheet says at 43.5 they flow 996cc

Huh, not sure why they put 890cc then. If trying to tune like that then ur maps will be off by 10%.

Did you check your fuel pressure at the rail when primed? Just bc the pump primes doesn't necessarily mean you have fuel pressure.

So the engine has never run on this tune before? This could also be part of the problem.

I would suspect the base map then. If you want to email it to me I can take a look and possibly rule that out.

Your ignition timing is correct?

And yeah would still check for fuel pressure also.

Why are you using Bosch 1000cc injectors on a stock FPR? Something I noticed no one mentioning.
